Characteristics of underwater window
Years of experience with acrylic, as well as advanced engineering of the "Planeta Neptuna" Company guarantee the implementation of the projects of any complexity. For manufacturing of pool windows "Planeta Neptuna" Company uses acrylic panels of Plexiglas™, which allow to produce high strength constructions adapted to the different loads and aquatic environment. The thickness of each acrylic panel is calculated individually and can vary from 5 to 250 mm. The material is manufactured in accordance with ISO 7823-1:2003 and certified by the Office of consumer protection in Moscow. The following properties of acrylic ensure the highest quality of products made from this material, as well as their durability and a presentable appearance for many years:
Resistance to mechanical damage
The indicator of the theoretical strength of the acrylic is 18300 Mpa. Acrylic glass has high strength at different deformations:
- tension – from 60 to 80 Mpa;
- bending – from 80 to 140 Mpa;
- compression – from 120 to 160 Mpa.
The impact resistance of acrylic is 15 kJ/sm2, (for comparison, the silicate has the average index 2 Kj/cm2). So acrylic products are resistant to accidental and deliberate "domestic" shocks. The scratches can be polished. For cleaning the acrylic panels it is recommended to use materials and technologies that have been tested by professionals of the «Planeta Neptuna» Company. The strength of the material allows to transport acrylic structures and products safely and without damage.
Chemical and bacterial resistance
In the process of operation, acrylic panels are highly resistant to the influence of various substances, which are contained not only in the air of big cities, but also on the coasts with high humidity. Acrylic panels demonstrate extremely high resistance to the negative impact of various microorganisms, moisture. Acrylic has a chemical resistance to the salts and inorganic substances. Organic substances (chloropromazine hydrocarbons, ketones, esters) impact on the acrylic panel as the solvents.
The acrylic materials have almost complete resistance (coefficient of moisture absorption is 3). Through the use of special technology of chemical bonding of acrylic panels, they become completely monolithic, and it is almost impossible to destroy the seam. The maximum guarantee is given for the glued acrylic panels. High strength of acrylic allows to produce acrylic construction with large areas of glazing.
Acrylic panels have a very high optical transparency and transmit to 93 % of UV rays. In short, the influence of ultraviolet rays will not lead to yellowing of acrylic, the material will save its natural color without yellowing even in condition of outdoor use in hot, sunny and humid climate. Usually the warranty on the resistance to yellowing is 30 years .
The resistance to deformation under thermal effects
The highest possible operating temperature of the acrylic panels is 70 degrees. When the temperature is 105 degrees acrylic becomes soft. Deformation of the material occurs when the temperature changes. The deformation will be 3-5 mm/m.p. when the temperature is 60 degrees. The ignition temperature of acrylic is 460-635 degrees. As for low temperatures, even 40 degrees bellow zero is a normal temperature for this material.
Compliance with European and Russian standards
Acrylic is an eco-friendly material, which does not release any toxins, so it is completely safe. Acrylic panels, which «Planeta Neptuna» Company uses, are manufactured according to the norms of the Russian Federation (GOST 19261-98, GOST 21672-99, GOST 23645-79) and international standards (PVHO-2 and ASMIE PVHO-1).
